Anyone living in London will know what sort of weather we had today - it poured with rain and was almost literally blowing dogs off chains. So a perfect day for testing my new trail running shoes. I bought them from Runner's Need and the shop assistant could not have been more helpful (he was also quite good-looking which always helps!). My problem was wet feet when I run on grass which I do most mornings and so I thought that water-proof shoes would be the answer. Apparently not. The problem with gortex style water-proof running shoes is that your feet cannot breath and so they end up getting wet from sweating. I was pointed in the direction of the Asics Gel-Trabuco which seemed to tick all the boxes.
Today was their first outing and they performed brilliantly. They were extremely comfortable and supportive. The grip was excellent and to my surprise my feet stayed dry - which is more than can be said for the dog!
